Excellent product. One minor beef is that the box is too big for shipping just a CD; this is an overkill that does not meet my idea of “green” design. The days of shipping a big manual with software is over, so the packaging needs to abandon the “big empty box” idea just to make it look like the s package. The 5-stars are for the software only. My current burn has taken three days, I have had to start over 3 times because it stops encoding. I am running the newest version of Toast on a brand new iMac, so there is no problem with lack of memory or processing speed.

The Toast program is just junk. I had to burn I switched to iTunes, which copied the same CDs in 5 minutes. Creating video compilations does not work at all. Roxio Media Player is gone. I have had Looking for another brand of software. Roxio is treating Mac users the same way Intuit does with Quicken: they don’t care.

This being the only program that I know to currently exist to burn Blu-Rays with my Mac Pro, I decided to purchase it. What wasn’t posted anywhere before I purchased it is that in order to use that functionality, I have to not only buy the eighty dollar program, but spend an additional twenty on a required plug-in Which enables the authoring of HD discs. When trying to purchase the plug-in, I was constantly bombarded with need for excessive information, and trying to convince me to buy a “back up copy” of the disc, or buy the ability to download the plug-in a second time should I lose my file.

Once the plug-in was purchased, it took me to a download screen, which has a large green download button, but the CD-key, which I didn’t even know to look for, was in a smaller less noticeable font.

Luckily, I didn’t browse away from the window before it requested the key to install the plug-in. After I noted the key, I migrated away from the site and tried to use the back button as a test, and the CD-key was indeed unreachable.

Make sure you note that key! Once this was all done, I had a similar experience to the previous reviewers with having trouble downloading a patch to upgrade to version Using the Roxio web page, the second time I downloaded the MB file, It mounted and was able to install.

All in all, I’ve not been impressed with the company, or any level of service. However, now that it’s installed, for the few hours I’ve had it, it seems to be properly working. I’ve made a CD image of the disk, and saved an extra copy of my downloaded file. I’ve copied the CD-key into the spotlight comments as not to lose them. Anyone looking at this is a Mac user, and so you know the reason why we Mac users are a part of the cult–er, club.

Macs are fast and efficient in ways that PCs only dream. Does what it is supposed to do, is flexible and captures video like a dream. Hence, I look into the product for my Mac at home and learn that Roxio’s Toast 11 is the Mac equivalent.
