Since I updated during the free period and used Windows 10 for a considerable amount of time I was having a digital license of Windows To verify, I asked a Microsoft Tech representative and he verified that I had a digital license of Windows 10 and could install Windows 10 on the same laptop. I successfully installed Windows 10 but as of now, I am having issues with Windows Activation.
I tried the Activation troubleshooter in Windows 10 but that did not work and searched for solutions but could not still activate my Windows.

I had even contacted Microsoft Tech Live Chat support and two of the representatives did a remote assistance of my laptop but still could not solve my problem. They were asking for my old Windows product key but I do not have one as the previous Windows was pre-installed on my laptop when I bought it. There is no product key sticker on my laptop as well. This was the same laptop that was using Windows 10 with a digital license back in and now in September , when I installed Windows 10, it asks for a product key.
Why can’t the same digital license be applied here? Can someone help me fix my Windows 10 Activation? I need to somehow have a solution. If the device was pre-installed with Windows 8 by the manufacturer then the key is embedded in the bios. Was this reply helpful?

It was my understanding that starting with Windows 8 manufacturers embedded the key and the command I gave was the way to access that key.
Hence no COA label on the device. Assuming you haven’t had to change the motherboard at any time I would expect the key to be present. This will make it very difficult especially if the MS “technicians” cannot or will not issue a new licence based on your record of the digital licence on the device.

An improvement was when Windows xp upgraded to Windows 7, from there on in I would bet Linux will surpass Windows if Windows don’t wake up and smell the roses, bring Windows 7 back and just sand it a little, don’t try and make it look and feel the same as Microsoft server because a desktop is not a server, rather make servers look and feel like Windows 7, ofcourse without any adware like gadgets and other garbage users don’t need. What is Windows 10 Home Plus? Plus is not a version I can find listed anywhere except with HP – and no explanation of what it is. Google is not my friend today!
I saw that post. Whoever posted that on quora is mistaken. The link to Microsoft does contain the word “plus” but as used it has nothing to do with the Home version.
