He downed the mystery drink, feeling the burn as it went down, vaguely tasting something nauseatingly sweet and he coughed into the back of his hand. Daichi already knew his slow pace would quickly give way to drinking as much as he could in a short period of time. So he readily accepted the next three drinks, quickly feeling his sobriety fading, his body loosening up. Across the room Daichi watched the dance floor, wondering if he was drunk enough to get up and dance.

It was the same man from outside, dancing with a group of people though it was clear who was the centre of attention. His dance moves were all hips and Daichi felt himself staring unabashedly.

He went to sip from his vodka and coke, his lips repeatedly missing the straw, eyes not leaving the dancer on the floor as he attracted more of a crowd with his ceaseless hypnotic movements. Daichi could hear that laugh again, over the music, over the chatter, and the man dipped low once more, rolling his body in a way that Daichi found himself getting lost in. Sam decides to witness the murder of Elizabeth and his interference affects the future. He travels to the past other times trying to fix his mistakes, but every time he returns, the future is in worse condition.

The only thing in common is that the lead character can travel to the past and every time that he wants to fix and event, he messes up the future.

Others have remarked that the sex scene jumps overboard from the movie; I’d like to add that if you’re keeping track of the script, you realize that the scene is important to the plot but that it is supposed to be over with very quickly; the way it goes on and on may have added commercial value but it turns a bit of the movie into nonsense.

Aside from that, thank goodness, the plot does hang together and does carry us along, the ending is solid if not entirely unpredictable, and although time-jumping seems to have become not only more commonplace but much easier than in the first film, the portrayal of a person’s struggle to alter the ostensibly inevitable, and the consequences of that struggle, makes 3 a legitimate contribution to the franchise, and I’d say quite a favorable contribution.
